Rate Setting

Child Welfare Rate SettingEnsuring that local, county, and state agencies have captured costs appropriately is critical in the claiming and reporting of federal funds.  The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is closely evaluating and reviewing how public agencies are developing their reimbursement rates.  In addition, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is performing audits on the various costs rolled into a local or state agency’s in the per diems established.

PCG has significant experience with allowability of specific costs composing the per diem rate.  We understand the mixture of expenses a state must incur for the payment of services in out-of-home placement as well as some services that might be included in a per diem for in-home services. PCG has worked with many states that have successfully implemented rates that meet the test of federal scrutiny and are audit worthy.

PCG keeps a close watch on federal changes and revisions that impact how expenses and costs are isolated for reimbursement.
